Respond to the questions below using complete sentences and evidence from the text. After you write your post, be sure to respond to two other student postings using "Accountable Talk."
1. Look at the illustrations on pages 21 and 22. Describe two adaptations the sea turtle has that help it survive.
2 adaptations that the sea turtles have to help them survive, from illustrations on page 21-22 is, that the turtles have a carapace on the top of their shell witch is a basically camouflage. Secondly, is the turtles have a plastron on the bottom of their shell witch is also camouflage.

One adaptation is the Sea Turtle has a shell an example is they use there shell to protect them self from predators. Another adaptation is the lightness of the plastron. It hides the turtle from predators below them by blending them with the light from the sky.

Evan, I agree with you. I, myself also did one adaptation as a turtle shell because as you said it can go inside it's shell and hide from predators.

One adaption the Loggerhead Sea Turtle has to survive is its Carapace. (its hard shell). Another adaption it has to survive is the Plastron, the plastron helps because the lightness of it hides the turtle from the predators below them by blending them in with the light from the sky. (camouflage). I learned all of these things with the help of graphic sources!

One adaptation is the carapace. The carapace hides the loggerhead turtle from predators above. Another adaptation is the plastron. the plastron hides the turtle from predators below.

One thing that helps the sea turtles survive is, the Carapace(it's shell). It helps because the darkness on it helps birds from seeing it. Kind of like camouflage. Another thing that helps the Loggerhead Sea Turtle is it's Plastron. The Plastron helps because when pretitors are below, they look up and see the bright sky, and the Plastron is light yellow and looks like the sky shining through the water.

Sea turtles have a shell that has two purposes. Both purposes help the sea turtle adapt to its surroundings. one way they adapt to there surroundings is the top part of the shell that is called "Carapace", the Carapace helps it adapt because birds cannot see it above. The other way it can adapt is the the bottom part of the shell that is called "Plastron", the Plastron help predators bellow hard for it to see the sea turtle. Those are my two ways sea turtles can adapt to there surroundings.

Two sea turtle adaptations are blending in with their surroundings using their shells (on p.g 22 it looks as though their shells can blend in). ... ......

Adaptations are amazing things. Adaptations are changes made to a animals body that it does its self, because of their surroundings. One adaptation of a Loggerhead sea turtle is shell. On page 21 the picture shows that a Loggerhead sea turtles shell is has a reddish-brown top that is called a carapace, and the light bottom part of the shell is called the plastron. The darkness of the carapace makes it hard for the birds flying above the ocean to see the turtle. The lightness of the plastron hides the turtle from predators below them by blending them in with the light from the sky. So what I am basically trying to say is an adaptation that turtles have is camouflage. The other adaptation that turtles have is their shell structure. Out of time i will finish later.

I was out of time yesterday, so I was not done yet. What I was saying was that other adaptation that turtles have is their shell structure. Loggerhead sea turtles shells have 5 central scutes. A scute is a bony plate that is connected to other bony plates in order to form the shell. Out of time again. Sorry.

The loggerhead sea turtle has two adaptations that help them survive. The first one is it's hard shell. I think it's an adaptation because if a shark was trying to attack a loggerhead sea turtle the turtle could turn and point it's shell towards the shark, the shark will hit the shell, the shell is super hard, and the shark gets hurt. The second tool for the loggerhead is it's claws.

Well without the Carapace it would be harder to swim in the water so the turtles wouldn't be able to adapt to the ocean or the land. But without there flippers they wouldn't be able to adapt to any were but the one spot there stuck in.

The loggerhead turtle adapts to the Loggerhead Marinelife Centers food, water they swim in, and a smaller place then the ocean to stay in.

The adaptions of a loggerhead sea turtle are the parts of of the shell that help it blend in with the sea (carapace) and the part that helps it blend in with the sky (plastron).

one adaptation the sea turtle has is the Carapace because the darkness of it helps them blend in with sea so a bird can't swoop down ,pick them up,and eat them. Another one is the Pastron because it helps them blend in with the sky so predators bellow would be fooled
