Charles,
Specifically, on which pages do you see destruction caused by tornadoes and what were the actual effects shown in the picture?

Well Charles what I have learned about them is that how they form is that it is formed at the base of a thunder cloud over flat land.As warm air rises up though colder air at the bottom of a cloud earths rotation makes the air spin and forms a funnel.

Great conversation, Charles and Sophia! Your revised response is very clear. Is there a particular page that shows the formation of a tornado?

Sophia,
Please identify three pictures that help you learn about tornadoes and explain exactly what you see in each image.

First of all on page 13 there is a storm radar and the weather people can show you that so you would know what to do to prepare for the terrible twister storm. Secondly, on page 10 it shows a map of tornado alley, which is mostly where tornadoes form. That means if you live in a place that is highlighted you should be prepared to get hit by a tornado, just in case. Thirdly on page 8 there is a before and after and that shows how much the hurricane damaged the Chandeleur Islands.Lastly,on page 6 there is a scale of the mph of winds.

That tornadoes can be dangerous to people when they get catch inside the tornadoes. When tornadoes are around people can die or worse like when people on page 16 get chased by a tornado and might get caught inside of it and they might loose a body part.

1.The pictures help me because they show me what really happened in the text. The three things I learned about tornadoes is that they go more than 300 miles per hour, each year in the United States 700 people are killed, and around 1,500 are injured.

Mirra,
These are great facts that you have included! Thank you for the references. I'd love to know which pages and pictures gave you this information so I have an idea as I reread the small book on my own!

One of the last pictures in the book showed what hurricanes can do and how powerful they can be. The map page on page 10 shows tornado alley and how different kinds of airs can create a perfect storm. Another devastating picture show hurricane Katrina ripped through new Orleans flooding the state

one thing that I learned just from the pictures is tornadoes can lift animals really high in the air. A second thing I learned from the pictures about tornadoes is the can last to just seconds or to many years. a third and final thing I learned about tornadoes just from the pictures is that they can destroy ground. the pictures in the book help me understand the book more because it shows me how much damage they can do,and show me what happens to make it.

Tornadoes can do surprising things like rain frogs and fish were it usually has rain and thunder storms. It shows that its raining frogs. On page 17 it shows a tornado that's wrecking houses and sucking in a guy. This shows that tornadoes are very dangerous. On page 9 it shows a dark tornado with dirt and debris and this shows that tornadoes are very dangerous

I know Graham, that is really weird. Because normally it does not rain frogs and fish often at all even in a hurricane. But that way you will have tons and tons of pet frogs and fish

My first thing I learned is that tornadoes come from clouds and goes
down to flat land. My second thing is that tornadoes can make animals
fall from the sky. Tornadoes can do server damage.

Another thing I learned about tornados is that it's much like a hurricane. What they have in common is they're both formed by strong spinning winds. There're also both very very very dangerous

1.) Tornadoes are like a blackish, brownish color. because of the debris and dirt that it picks up.
2.) Tornadoes cause strange hapenings like when it picks up animals and then drops them.
3.) Tornadoes are created by hot and cold air and they get into a fight and create a storm.
this helped me understand the book because the main idea is how dangerous storms are.and it helped me by giving me more background knowledge.
