1. Choose two chapters from the book you finished reading and write down one fact and one opinion from each chapter about gray whales.
On chapter one the author wrote a fact that is Gray whales spend most of there lives near shore. One opinion that the author wrote is under one of the perisher it says that a lot of people enjoy touching Gray whales.
On chapter three page 9 it has a fact in it that says Gray whales don`t have teeth they have baleen. On page 8 it has a opinion that is baleen looks like grayish and yellowish. all the opinions are opinions because not every one will agree with it. All of the facts are facts because it says some thing that could be proven true or false.

That is a cool fact, Alex. Does the writer of this informational text explain how scientists figured that out? Or was there any sport of code to explain which sounds mean what?

1. Gray whales travel south in the fall because the water starts to get cold and they don't like cold water so they travel south to find the warmish water and it also takes a while to get there so they have to get there in time before the water gets cold.
2. The biologists count how many gray whales there are so they can easily find out if the dying or making more baby's so they know what's happening to them or how there growing.
3. Another pattern in nature is that they travel back and forth and how they eat they finish one grass area and then move to another so its a pattern because it happens very often were they move around in a pattern from patch to patch for more grass to eat.
